1200 amateur photographers invaded the streets of Madrid on June 19th, 2009 with one (imposed) theme in mind : "Desvelar Madrid". My idea of picturing a less postcard-like Madrid was to get behind its thick walls and shed some light on those more intimate, discrete, yet historically loaded places : this particular picture was taken in El Ateneo (see history below). Once you enter the building, you get the sense that the clock on the wall stopped ticking 60, 70, 80... years ago. A place in ancient times...
